Riverside Kitchen Remodeling
The kitchen is the most complex room in any home to remodel correctly. It involves every major trade, framing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, flooring, cabinetry, countertops, and finish work, all converging in a single space where tolerances are tight and the sequence of operations matters enormously. A cabinet that is off by a quarter inch throws off the entire run. A countertop template taken before the backsplash tile is set creates gaps. Electrical rough-in that does not account for the final cabinet layout leaves outlets hidden behind appliances or missing where they are needed most.
BPP Construction has been remodeling kitchens across Riverside and San Bernardino counties for 35 years. Ben understands that a successful kitchen remodel is fundamentally a coordination problem, and coordination is what separates a renovation that comes together seamlessly from one that drags on with costly change orders and frustrating rework. Every kitchen project we take on is managed by Ben directly, from the initial layout consultation through demolition, rough-in, installation, and final walkthrough.
Whether you are updating a builder-grade kitchen with new cabinets and countertops, opening up a wall to create an open-concept layout, or completely gutting and reconfiguring the space, BPP Construction handles the full scope of work with one contractor, one timeline, and one standard of quality. We serve homeowners throughout the Inland Empire within a 35-mile radius of Riverside, including Corona, Moreno Valley, Rancho Cucamonga, and Fontana.

The Foundation of Your Kitchen
Cabinets define the layout, storage capacity, and visual character of your kitchen. BPP Construction installs both semi-custom and custom cabinetry in a range of styles, from clean-lined shaker doors popular in modern Southern California homes to traditional raised-panel designs that complement older Riverside-area properties. We handle cabinet selection guidance, precise measurement, ordering, and professional installation with shimming, leveling, and alignment that ensures every door closes flush and every drawer slides smoothly.
Countertop installation requires precision that cannot be rushed. After cabinets are set and verified level, we coordinate with countertop fabricators for template measurement, fabrication, and installation. We work with granite, quartz, marble, butcher block, and solid-surface materials. Each material has specific requirements for support, seam placement, edge profiles, and cutout locations for sinks and cooktops. We ensure your cabinets are structurally prepared to support the weight of your chosen countertop material, particularly important with heavy natural stone slabs that can weigh several hundred pounds.
The relationship between cabinets, countertops, and backsplash must be planned as a system, not as separate purchases. Countertop overhangs affect cabinet crown molding profiles. Backsplash tile thickness affects outlet box extension requirements. BPP Construction coordinates these elements together to avoid the costly surprises that come from treating each component independently.
From Concept to Completion
Design & Planning
We evaluate your existing kitchen, plumbing locations, electrical capacity, structural walls, ventilation, and natural light. We discuss your priorities, review layout options, help you select materials that fit your budget and style, and develop a complete scope of work with a detailed written quote. No hidden costs, no vague allowances.
Permits & Demo
We pull all required permits, building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical as needed. Demolition proceeds carefully, protecting adjacent rooms and floors. We address any hidden issues discovered during demo, outdated wiring, corroded plumbing, structural deficiencies, before proceeding with new construction.
Build & Walkthrough
Rough-in trades come first, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, followed by inspections, drywall, flooring, cabinetry, countertops, backsplash, fixtures, appliances, and final trim. Every phase is completed in the correct sequence. We walk the finished kitchen with you to verify every detail before closing out the project.
Kitchen Layouts for Inland Empire Homes
Many Riverside-area homes built in the 1970s through 1990s feature closed-off galley or U-shaped kitchens that feel cramped by today’s standards. One of the most transformative kitchen remodeling projects we perform is opening up the kitchen to adjacent living and dining areas to create an open-concept layout. This typically involves removing a non-structural wall or, when load-bearing walls are involved, installing a properly engineered beam to carry the structural load while opening the sight lines and flow between rooms.
Wall removal requires structural engineering to determine whether the wall is load-bearing and, if so, what size beam is required, what post connections are needed, and whether the existing foundation can support the point loads created by the new beam. BPP Construction coordinates structural engineering, permit applications, and the construction sequence required to safely remove walls and install beams without compromising your home’s structural integrity.
Kitchen islands are another highly requested feature in Inland Empire kitchen remodels. An island requires adequate clearance, a minimum of 36 inches on all sides for walkways, 42 inches on sides where people will be seated at a breakfast bar. Islands that include sinks or dishwashers require drain and supply line extensions through the floor, which must be properly vented and permitted. We design islands that are proportional to your kitchen’s footprint and functional for your specific needs, whether that is additional prep space, seating, storage, or all three.
Built for Daily Life
Kitchen flooring takes more abuse than any other floor in your home, water exposure near sinks and dishwashers, grease splatter near cooking areas, heavy foot traffic, and dropped items that would crack less durable materials. We install luxury vinyl plank, porcelain tile, hardwood, and natural stone flooring engineered to withstand daily kitchen demands. Proper subfloor preparation, leveling, moisture barriers, and underlayment, is critical to a long-lasting installation, and we never cut corners on the work that disappears beneath the finished floor.
Electrical requirements in modern kitchens have expanded significantly. California Electrical Code requires a minimum of two 20-amp small-appliance branch circuits in the kitchen, GFCI protection on all countertop receptacles, dedicated circuits for dishwashers, disposals, microwaves, and refrigerators, and proper lighting circuits for both task and general illumination. Many older Inland Empire homes have kitchen electrical systems that were never designed for the load demands of modern appliances. BPP Construction evaluates your electrical panel capacity and kitchen circuit layout, upgrades wiring to current code requirements, and installs outlets, lighting, and dedicated circuits where they are needed.
Undercabinet lighting, recessed can lights, and pendant fixtures over islands and breakfast bars are standard features in modern kitchen designs. We rough in all lighting locations before drywall, install dimmer switches where appropriate, and coordinate fixture placement with cabinet and countertop layouts to ensure task lighting falls exactly where it is needed for food preparation, cooking, and cleanup.
