Roofing Repair
Leak repair, tile and shingle patching, flashing replacement, and storm damage restoration — built to withstand Inland Empire heat and sun by a contractor with 35 years of experience.
Roofing Repair in Riverside, CA
Roofing problems in the Inland Empire rarely announce themselves politely. A roof leak during a winter rainstorm, cracked tiles from summer thermal cycling, or wind-lifted shingles after a Santa Ana wind event are the kinds of issues that demand prompt, competent repair — not a sales pitch for a full roof replacement you may not need. BPP Construction provides honest, targeted roofing repair services across Riverside and San Bernardino counties, fixing the actual problem without upselling unnecessary work.
With 35 years of construction experience in the Inland Empire, Ben understands the specific challenges that Southern California’s climate imposes on roofing systems. Extreme UV exposure degrades roofing materials faster than in most other regions. Daily thermal cycling — where roof surface temperatures can swing 80 degrees or more between midday and overnight — causes expansion and contraction that loosens fasteners, cracks tiles, and breaks sealant bonds. The occasional intense rainstorm that follows months of drought tests every weak point that heat and sun have been quietly creating.
We repair both concrete and clay tile roofs, asphalt shingle roofs, flat roof systems, and wood shake roofs. Every repair starts with a thorough inspection to identify the root cause — not just the visible symptom — so the repair actually solves the problem. We serve homeowners throughout the Inland Empire, including Riverside, Corona, Moreno Valley, Fontana, and Rancho Cucamonga.

Common Roofing Problems We Repair
Tile Roof Repairs
Concrete and clay tile roofs are the most common roofing system in the Inland Empire, and they present unique repair challenges. Individual tiles crack from thermal stress, foot traffic during maintenance, or impact from falling branches. When tiles crack or shift, water penetrates the underlayment beneath them, and the underlayment — not the tile itself — is the actual waterproofing layer on a tile roof. BPP Construction replaces cracked and broken tiles with matching profiles, re-sets shifted tiles with proper adhesive and alignment, and inspects the underlayment condition beneath damaged areas to ensure the waterproofing layer is intact.
Ridge cap failures are another common tile roof issue in the Inland Empire. The mortar that secures ridge tiles deteriorates over time from UV exposure and thermal cycling, allowing ridge tiles to loosen or blow off entirely during wind events. We remove failed mortar, reset ridge tiles with proper adhesive rated for Southern California conditions, and ensure ridge cap details are weathertight.
Shingle & Flat Roof Repairs
Asphalt shingle roofs in the Inland Empire age faster than in milder climates. Extreme UV exposure causes shingle granule loss, which exposes the asphalt layer to accelerated degradation. Thermal cycling causes shingle tabs to curl, lift, and crack. Santa Ana winds can peel back shingle tabs that have lost their adhesive seal. BPP Construction replaces damaged shingles with matching profiles, re-seals lifted tabs, replaces deteriorated flashing around penetrations, and assesses whether localized repair or a larger-area re-shingle is the most cost-effective solution for your specific situation.
Flat roof systems — common on additions, patio cover tie-ins, and portions of tract homes throughout the Inland Empire — require specialized repair techniques. Standing water, membrane splits, and failed seams at penetrations are the most common flat roof problems we repair. We patch membrane splits, re-seal seams, address drainage issues that cause ponding, and replace deteriorated flashing at parapet walls and roof-to-wall transitions.
Roof Repair Done Right
Inspection & Diagnosis
We inspect the entire affected area — not just the visible leak point. Water travels along rafters and sheathing before showing up on your ceiling, so the entry point is often far from the stain. We check flashing, penetrations, valleys, ridge caps, and underlayment condition to identify the root cause and assess whether additional areas need preventive attention.
Targeted Repair
We fix what needs fixing — no more, no less. Cracked tiles get replaced with matching profiles. Failed flashing gets removed and replaced with proper step and counter flashing. Deteriorated underlayment gets patched or replaced in the affected area. Lifted shingles get re-adhered or replaced. Every repair uses materials rated for Inland Empire UV and heat exposure.
Verification & Prevention
After repair, we verify the fix by water testing the repaired area and inspecting from inside the attic space when accessible. We document our findings and the repair performed, and we alert you to any areas that may need attention in the near future so you can plan accordingly rather than being surprised by the next storm.
Finding the Source of Roof Leaks
Roof leaks are deceptive. Water enters through a failed flashing detail, a cracked tile, or a lifted shingle at one point on the roof, then travels along the underside of the roof sheathing, down rafters, and across ceiling joists before finally dripping onto your ceiling or running down an interior wall. The water stain on your ceiling may be ten or fifteen feet away from the actual point of entry on the roof. This is why repairing the area directly above the ceiling stain so often fails — it addresses the symptom, not the cause.
BPP Construction traces leaks to their source. We start from inside the attic when accessible, following water stains and moisture patterns along sheathing and framing members back to the point of entry. We then inspect the corresponding area on the roof surface, checking flashing details, penetrations, valleys, and roofing material condition. Common leak sources include deteriorated pipe boot flashings, failed chimney counter flashing, cracked valley tiles, wind-lifted ridge caps, and missing or shifted tiles that expose underlayment. Once we identify the actual entry point, we repair it properly — not with roof cement smeared over the general area, but with the correct flashing technique and materials for the specific condition.
After repairing the leak source, we water-test the repair to verify it is watertight before closing up. When interior damage has occurred — water-stained drywall, damaged insulation, or compromised framing — we can repair that as well. BPP Construction handles both the roofing repair and the interior restoration, so you do not need to coordinate between separate contractors.
